It is a great honor to serve as Fitchburg's Mayor. I appreciate the confidence that you have placed in me, and I will be working hard to move our community through these difficult times.

Jay has been a Fitchburg resident for over 22 years. He has experience living in almost all the different settings Fitchburg has to offer, including living in the Belmar-Dunn's Marsh neighborhood, and near Ridgewood as a renter to living in the rural residential area of Fitchburg as a renter and owning two different homes in Fitchburg.
For the last two years he has served as Fitchburg's mayor, and for over 14 years, he served on the Common Council. In that time, he has worked with 38 different Council members on many important issues. He has worked to develop consensus on a number of issues, and is happy to work to make Fitchburg a better place.

As I have always done, I have a plan for the next two years. In fact, I am the only candidate for mayor with a plan: 1. Continue the process to start building Green Tech Village 2. Establish a neighborhood center and recreation programming in the Jamestown and Belmar neighborhoods 3. Implement the Comprehensive Plan to improrove the environment in Fitchburg 4. Create a 50 year financial plan for the city 5. Continue working to further consolidate city hall operations for less expensive government 6. Continue work with the developer to redevelop the former Ridgewood complex 7. Emergency Services

Among the disappointing things in this campaign has been the assault by my opponent on Fitchburg's emergency services. In two different forums, my opponent has suggested that we will be cutting police officers and firefighters. My friends, I am promising you that, if I am elected mayor, we will NOT cut these critical services. These are the most basic services that a municipality provides, and in my nearly 20 years in leadership in this city, I have a long track record of preserving and improving these services.
